Full Season Announcement!

Whew! It’s been a busy couple of weeks over here at R&R. We’re preparing to open our production of Mad Ones this weekend (tickets are still available – make sure you don’t miss out), sorting through the over 350 and counting auditions we’ve received for Puffs (your talent is astounding. We don’t know how we’ll ever narrow it down) and perhaps most excitingly – we’ve been able to get our final ducks in their proverbial row to announce our full 2021 Season!

This season we’ve assembled four shows that we feel bring heart, truth, light, laughter and fun to our current times. With stories ranging from high schoolers to wizards, Renaissance writers to murderous cheerleaders – we can’t wait to bring you a season that inspires, uplifts, and delights.

So without any further ado:

January 29th/30th, 2021: The Mad Ones

Samantha Brown balances on the edge of her future, car keys in hand. As she sits in the driver’s seat, she faces a choice: will she follow in her mother’s footsteps, or take the dare of her impetuous best friend and chart a new path?

The Mad Ones has been such a special show to us for such a long time. The way it portrays female friendships with such heart and honesty, the struggles it presents about grief that feel so painfully truthful, and the way it challenges us to dream big. Not to mention the lush and gorgeous Kerrigan and Lowdermilk score. In these times, everyone feels a little bit like Samantha Brown: uncertain, isolated, and paralysed by the world around us. We hope that this little show full of honesty and heart brings you a moment of hope to open up our season.

April 23rd/24th, 2021: Puffs

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

Puffs is an absolute delight for any fan of a certain YA magical franchise, but those uninitiated from a certain British school of magic and mafic will find themselves laughing along with the wild and wacky adventures of Wayne and his friends. The Puffs may feel like the underdogs in their own story, but we believe we all have a little Puff inside of us, and we hope you’ll join us in April to say a big “HIIII!”

July 30th/31st, 2021: Something Rotten!

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rockstar known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self… and all that jazz.

We are thrilled to bring you the spectacularly clever Something Rotten! for our summer season. A tale about finding new beginnings, and forging new paths, Something Rotten! feels remarkably familiar to our journey as a growing digital theatre organization. We can’t wait to bring you hilarious antics, dazzling dancing and a promise that this little theatre company is going to be on top in July.

October 29th/30th, 2021: We Are The Tigers

This pop rock, teen horror musical follows a cheerleading captain and the “worst team ever” as they try to survive the annual cheer sleepover when a serial killer strikes.

We are so thrilled to be able to partner with Preston Max Allen to bring you the first virtually licensed production of “We Are The Tigers” since the show premiered Off-Broadway in 2019. With an ear catching pop/rock score and a terrifyingly fun group of murderous cheerleaders we couldn’t think of a more perfect production to fill our Halloween slot, and close out our season. We can’t wait to scream alongside you this October.

We’d can’t wait to have you join us at the virtual theatre this year! Make sure to check out our Season Passes now on sale on our “Buy Tickets” page, which provide discounts if you plan to attend more than one show in the season!

Thank you all so much for your support and enthusiasm towards us, our work and our new season. We’re so thrilled to be able to bring you fantastic virtual theatre offerings all year long. Here’s to a fantastic 2021!

All our love
